australian transit enterprises founded in 1995 when hornibrook bus lines proprietor geoff mountjoy formed joint venture melbourne bus proprietors grenda corporation , kefford corporation.


in january 1996 commenced operating services in perth under path transit banner. followed in april 2000 contract (outer south) in adelaide under southlink banner. @ same time, adelaide hills operation contract awarded transitplus, joint venture between ate transadelaide. in april 2005 southlink awarded additional adelaide contract (outer north). in 2010, ate took full control of operation of hills contract, under southlink brand. in july 2011, southlink s existing contracts renewed 8 years.


it operates linksa coach business.


in 2012 grenda corporation sold share in business mountjoy family. kefford corporation had sold share. in march 2015, keolis downer purchased business. result, ate s subsidiaries reorganised directly under control of keolis downer, while australian transit enterprises became defunct.


prior company s sale keolis downer in march 2015, had total bus fleet of 930.
