frederic whiting married olive elizabeth cook (1872-1954), singer boston, massachusetts, on june 4, 1903. 2 appointed organize division of applied arts @ louisiana purchase exhibition of 1904 in st. louis, , awarded gold medal participation. frederic , olive had 1 son together, frederic allen whiting, jr., in 1906. when family moved cleveland in 1913, mrs. whiting maintained prominent role in cleveland museum’s social activities, , maintained role of assistant director time. upon retirement, couple spent time between homes in ogunquit, maine, , mount dora, florida. olive died in ogunquit in 1954, , frederic died 5 years later, in 1959, in framingham, massachusetts.
