the jsx-1 single place, single engine, jet aircraft similar in design onex, waiex style y tail. introduced @ airventure 2009. powered czech-built pbs tj-100 turbojet engine mounted above aft fuselage, exhaust exiting between y-tail. subsonex achieved first engine test runs in december 2009. engine produces 1100 n (240 lb) of thrust. developed central mono pod wheel, tail wheel , small wing tip outriggers, prototype developed directional controllability problems during taxi-tests.

the production model of subsonex jsx-2. landing gear changed tricycle configuration manually retractable nosewheel. flight tested jet-sailplane performer bob carlton in august 2011.

at airventure 2013 company began taking us$10,000 deposits on production kits. projected price of kit us$125,000 in 2013 , us$135,000 in 2014.

the first jsx-2 kit shipped customer in february 2015 , completed , flown in october 2015.
