russell , wife had lived in prince s gate, south kensington, london, heveningham hall (suffolk) , stanway house (gloucestershire). in 1934, purchased mottisfont. there 2 sons marriage, martin basil paul russell (born 1918) , raymond russell (organologist) (1922–1964). after russell s death, wife made arrangements mottisfont , 2,080 acres (840 ha) estate preserved national trust.
