the medal of nesterov 32mm diameter circular silver medal raised rim on both obverse , reverse. on obverse forward-facing bust of pyotr nesterov in military uniform wearing tunic, peaked cap , medals, on 2 laurel branches. above head, inscription in relief peter nesterov (russian: «ПЕТР НЕСТЕРОВ»). on reverse, in upper half, triple crowned, double-headed eagle wings spread out horizontally clutching in talons propeller crossing sword under flaming grenade. in lower half, letter n horizontal line reserved award serial number. below line, maker s mark.


the medal hangs standard russian pentagonal mount ring though medal s suspension loop. mount covered overlapping 24mm wide blue silk moiré ribbon 3mm yellow edge stripes.
