on july 7, 2013, spitzer announced running new york city comptroller, , start petition following day. 3,750 valid signatures registered voters party required july 11 register race spitzer able submit on 27,000 signatures city board of elections before deadline. spitzer commented asking forgiveness, , hopeful voters forgive him. eliot spitzer lost primary on september 10, 2013 scott stringer.
