on april 27, 2017, nintendo unveiled new nintendo 2ds xl (known new nintendo 2ds ll in japan), released in north america , europe on july 28, 2017 , japan on july 29, 2017. system variation of new nintendo 3ds line, featuring additional hardware features , software compatibility of new nintendo 3ds, albeit without stereoscopic 3d functionality, , newly designed foldable screen. no announcements have been made on non-xl variant of system.
