after resulting agreement @ munich conference had granted germany control on considerable parts of interwar czechoslovakia, remainder formally subordinated german rule in march 1939. while slovakia became separate satellite state of germany, remaining czech lands turned protectorate of bohemia , moravia under german dominion.
two separate structures territorial administration existed within protectorate. protectorate officially divided 2 länder (lands): bohemia , moravia, in turn sub-divided number of smaller units. nazi party implemented different form of organization setting 4 separate party districts in area, , subordinating these organizationally surrounding gaue , reichsgaue: sudetenland, bayreuth (bayerische ostmark), lower danube, , upper danube. these 2 methods continued co-exist in protectorate entire duration of existence.
