hotel phoenix confiscated occupying german forces during world war. building used local headquarters of german navy.


in october 1945, few months after liberation, hotel phoenix acquired danish communist party. ole buhl , harald petersen commissioned adapted building new use party headquarters in 1946. party s newspaper land og folk , several other associated organisations , companies based in building.


arp-hansen acquired building in 1990. architect robert grünbreger refurbished hotel in 1990-1991.
