in february 2016, facelifted ds 3 announced ds automobiles, part of separation citroën become standalone brand. new ds 3 launched @ year s geneva motor show. revised model no longer featured citroën badges, ds badge featuring prominently on front grille. trim level names changed dsign, dstyle , dsport , re introduced chic, elegance , prestige. ultra prestige model added.

the facelifted model identified revised front , rear design, plus new range of psa engines incorporating 1.2 litre 3 cylinder puretech petrol engines (available in aspirated 82 bhp , turbocharged 110 , 130 bhp variants), 1.6 litre thp turbocharged petrol engine 165 bhp, , 1.6 litre bluehdi turbo diesel engines 100 , 120 bhp. in addition, new ds 3 performance model introduced thp engine uprated 210 bhp, 0–100 km/h time of 6.5 seconds.

in june 2016, ds partnered french luxury fashion , perfume company givenchy , launched ds 3 givenchy le makeup special edition. total of 500 givenchy models built , include unique features such textured matt white body metallic purple roof , door mirrors, rose pink dashboard strip , make-up storage kit in front central armrest. available puretech 110 engine in manual or automatic transmission, , based on mid range elegance trim level.

the ds performance line launched in september 2016, enabling ds customer have performance styling without mechanical upgrades. ds 3 performance line includes aesthetics such gloss black alloy wheels, black contrasting roof colour, exterior stripe graphics , interior coloured stitching.
