feral populations of fischer s lovebirds , masked lovebirds live in cities of east africa. present there interspecific hybrids between these 2 species. hybrid has reddish-brown on head , has orange on upper chest, otherwise resemble masked lovebird.


feral lovebirds present in warmer cities of united states. these include phoenix, arizona, , austin, texas. several species found feral populations in san diego, california.


there 2 feral colonies present in pretoria region (silver lakes , centurion) in south africa. originated birds escaped aviaries. consist of masked, black cheeked, fischer , hybrid birds , vary in colors. white (not albino) , yellow blue occur in many cases. white ringed eyes prominent.
