tedeschi became barrister in 1977. became crown prosecutor in 1983, queen s counsel in 1988, deputy senior crown prosecutor in 1990, , senior crown prosecutor in 1997. during career, has worked on numerous high-profile cases in new south wales. defence barrister greek conspiracy case in late 1970s on 100 people, majority of whom of greek origin, arrested , charged defrauding social security. case sparked documentary entitled witch hunt premiered @ 1987 sydney film festival.

tedeschi prosecuted backpacker murders committed ivan milat in 1990s total of 7 bodies discovered in belanglo state forest in new south wales. milat later arrested , found guilty of murders on 27 july 1996. milat later appealed conviction upheld.

tedeschi prosecuted chew seng liew , choon tee lim 1991 shooting death of prominent australian heart surgeon victor chang. on 4 july 1991, chang forced pull vehicle on liew , lim , attempted rob him. after pulling over, chang refused give liew , lim money. argument ensued , liew fired 2 shots, killing chang. third suspect granted immunity testifying against liew , lim. original plan abduct chang ransom; however, third suspect backed out of plan day before shooting.

tedeschi prosecutor infamous 2000 fijian coup d état led george speight. in 2004, prosecuted vice-president jope seniloli falsely swearing in ministers. won convictions against deputy speaker of house of representatives rakuita vakalalabure, ratu viliame volavola, peceli rinakama, , viliame savu same offence. sentenced various prison terms.

in 2007, tedeschi counsel assisting coroner deaths of 5 australian journalists @ balibo. dubbed balibo five, killed on 16 october 1975 during indonesia incursions prior invasion. deaths declared deliberate in 2007 australian coroner , ruled deliberately killed indonesian special forces soldiers. incident subject of 2009 film balibo won several awards.

tedeschi prosecuted phuong ngo assassination of australian parliament member john newman. first assassination in australia s history , trial ended in 2 mistrials before ngo found guilty of murder in 2001. ngo rival politician newman , said have offered relative $10,000 perform murder (which relative turned down).
