manille parlée

a more popular variety allowing spoken communication between partners, name implies may said subject stringent rules. leader trick, before leading, may give partner single piece of information own hand, or request information partner s, or may (instead) invite partner either same or give him instruction card or suit led. such information may relate number of cards held of specific suit or rank, or whether particular card held. question , answer must succinct, explicit, intelligible opponents, , not replaced or accompanied non-verbal conventions. questions must answered truthfully, , instructions followed if possible.

from 3 7 may play, each himself. deal out cards 2 or four, depending on number of players, constitute widow. eldest has privilege of becoming declarer. if declines, passes right until exercises it. declarer s objective take @ least 21 points in tricks , cards, or @ least 15 if more 4 playing. before play, declarer may keep drawing cards widow until satisfied hand. each drawn card must followed discard, may card drawn, before next taken. when satisfied, declarer announces trump , eldest hand leads. amount won declarer each opponent if successful, or paid each if not, varies number of cards exchanged.

remove many sevens necessary enable every player receive same number of cards. each in turn, starting eldest, may pass or bid. bid states number of points bidder undertakes make in exchange choosing trumps. each bid must higher last, , player has passed may not come in again. highest bidder announces trump, or no trumps, , eldest leads first trick, unless bid win every trick, in case declarer leads. player scores amount of bid if successful, or loses if not. winner player highest score after agreed number of deals, each having dealt same number of times.

if 3 players active in game, 9 cards dealt in batches of 3 each player , remainder 5 stacked, 2 face , 3 down.
if 4 play, 7 cards dealt , remainder 4 laid down, 2 face , 2 down.
if 5 play, 6 cards dealt , remaining 2 laid down, 1 face , 1 down.
if 6 play, 5 cards dealt , remainder 2 cards laid down, 1 face , 1 down.
if 7 play, 4 cards dealt , remainder 4 laid down, 2 face , 2 down.

the game played in previous version previously, except highest bidder may exchange cards widow before naming trumps. in circles, score doubled if bidder undertakes win every trick, or plays without exchanging. if both apply, score quadrupled.


blind manille

this variety requires people hold dealt cards backwards other players can see cards not player himself. chosen trump based on cards dealer sees. players play cards pulling them randomly hand. whoever threw highest of initial suit or trumps highest, wins trick.


3-player manille

in 3-player manille dealer deals out 10 cards players , puts last 2 face down on table. after choosing trump he/she may choose discard 0, 1 or 2 cards his/her hand , replace them face down cards (without looking @ them). team wins first trick can add 2 reserve cards winnings. dealer plays against 2 other players alternating partner throughout game.
