the rashad shawa cultural center, located in rimal, completed in 1988 , named after founder, former mayor rashad al-shawa. two-story building triangular plan, cultural centers performs 3 main functions: meeting place large gatherings during annual festivals, place stage exhibitions, , library. french cultural center symbol of french partnership , cooperation in gaza. holds art exhibits, concerts, film screenings, , other activities. whenever possible, french artists invited display artwork, , more frequently, palestinian artists gaza strip , west bank invited participate in art competitions.
