General Government Administrative divisions of Nazi Germany



the general government in august 1941.


in parts of poland not directly annexed german reich separate civil administration set called general government (of occupied polish territories). while theoretically outside boundaries of reich proper, considered part of greater germany nazi officials autonomous region (i.e. not directly subordinated berlin government).


it in turn sub-divided 4 distrikten (districts).



distrikt krakau;
distrikt warschau;
distrikt lublin;
distrikt radom.

after invasion of soviet union in 1941, fifth district added, created out of former territories of austrian galicia:



distrikt galizien.
