cardozo selected every representative team growing up; including new south wales school boys, new south wales under 14 s, new south wales under 15 s, , new south wales under 16 s. selected new south wales institute of sport scholarship holder, , made under 16 s , under 17 s australian team captained 2 games, won top goal scorer world cup qualifiers, , represented australia in fifa u-17 world cup.

2003 , nsl

richie made nsl debut @ 17 years old in 2003 sydney olympic in final season of nsl before became a-league. @ such young age, richie earmarked coaches , scouts next big thing in australian football. however, collapse of nsl, , establishment of new a-league, cardozo s career stalled, , missed out on both contract in a-league, , under 20 s world cup in netherlands in 2005.

2007

after spells in new south wales premier league, victorian premier league, , new zealand national league, cardozo signed contract swiss third division team fc bex in february 2007. after stint covered both 06-07, , 07-08 seasons, returned melbourne play in victorian premier league.

2008 – 2011

for 2008 , 2009 season, cardozo played richmond. moved hume city 2010 , 2011 season. on 4 years played in victorian premier league, carodozo scored 54 goals. in 2011 victorian premier league season crowned top scorer in league 19 goals , won media player of year.

2012

in january 2012, signed austrian football first league club lask. on 2 , half year deal. lask linz never lost game cardozo playing season, , push promotion austrian bundesliga fell short. unfortunately @ end of season off field indiscretions club resulted in lask being relegated 3rd tier of austrian football austrian federation, , cardozo , lask mutually terminated remaining 2 years of contract.

2013

in 2013, cardozo returned home town of sydney inaugural revamped national premier league , played major role in leading rockdale city suns grand final birth. yet again successful season cardozo, being selected in starting 11 team of year, , netting 17 season goals win first golden boot nsw npl , in doing becoming first , player win golden boot in both nsw , victorian premier leagues.

2013/2014

in southern summer, returned new zealand , former club in waitakere united. cardozo finished season leagues second top goalscorer.

2014

hume city. cardozo yet again linked former team in hume city 2014 season. below par season cardozo standards, took on captaincy of side due long term injury teams first choice skipper. playing different role , position within team of season, cardozo found more difficult make customary impact, scoring less goals previous years. frustration grew, rumours of major contractual dispute , mis-management club surfaced third successive stint hume city. tag has haunted organisation on many occasions many years, , along desire return play professionally overseas again, led apparent reason cardozo s depart.

2016

in 2016, cardozo joined manly united in nsw premier league. playing first game of season manly scored goal against mounties wanderers advance manly next round in ffa cup.

cardozo has represented australia @ u/17 level, , went fifa u/17 world championships in finland 2003. top goal scorer in qualifying campaign , captained side on 2 occasions. narrowly missed out on selection both australian u/20 team compete in 2005 world youth championships, , olyroos went beijing olympics 2008.
