blue origin has development facility near seattle, washington , operational launch facility in west texas. blue origin developing new orbital launch facility @ cape canaveral air force station.


development facility , headquarters

the company headquartered on 26 acres (11 ha) of industrial land in kent, washington, suburb of seattle, research , development located. facility 260,000 square feet (24,000 m) in size in 2015, growing 300,000 square feet (28,000 m) march 2016 blue origin leasing additional space in adjacent office buildings. plan add more space 2017. of march 2016, kent facility housed engineering, manufacturing , business operations , majority of 600-person blue origin workforce, grew 350 persons @ kent in may 2015. added additional 42,630 square metres (458,900 sq ft) of office, manufacturing , warehouse space headquarters facilities in 2016 , 2017.


florida facilities

in september 2015, blue origin leased launch complex 36 in cape canaveral, florida build launch pad orbital launch vehicle. of march 2016, first blue origin launch lc36 planned 2020. august 2015 estimate predicted initial launch happening earlier 2020. groundbreaking facility begin construction occurred in june 2016.


west texas suborbital launch , engine test site

blue origin has suborbital launch facility located in west texas, near town of van horn. current launch license , experimental permits government federal aviation administration authorize flights of blue origin’s new shepard suborbital system, of may 2015, blue origin has staff of approximately 50 supporting west texas facility.


the launch pad located @ 31°25′23″n 104°45′26″w / 31.422927°n 104.757152°w / 31.422927; -104.757152, 1.8 miles (2.9km) north of check-out building. landing pad located @ 31°27′06″n 104°45′46″w / 31.4517°n 104.7628°w / 31.4517; -104.7628, 3.8 miles (6.1km) north of check-out building , 2 miles (3.2km) north of launch pad.


in addition suborbital launch pads, west texas site includes number of rocket engine test stands. engine test cells support both hydrolox, methalox , storable propellant engines present.


included 3 test cells testing methalox be-4 engine alone: 2 full test cells can support full-thrust , full-duration burns, 1 supports short-duration, high-pressure preburner tests, refine ignition sequence , understand start transients.


alabama engine manufacturing facility

in june 2016, blue announced build new facility in huntsville, alabama manufacture large be-4 cryogenic rocket engine.
