the rashad shawa cultural center, located in rimal, completed in 1988 , named after founder, former mayor rashad al-shawa. two-story building triangular plan, cultural centers performs 3 main functions: meeting place large gatherings during annual festivals, place stage exhibitions, , library. french cultural center symbol of french partnership , cooperation in gaza. holds art exhibits, concerts, film screenings, , other activities. whenever possible, french artists invited display artwork, , more frequently, palestinian artists gaza strip , west bank invited participate in art competitions.


established in 1998, arts , crafts village children s cultural center objectives of promoting comprehensive, regular , periodic documentation of creative art in of forms. interacted on large scale class of artists different nationalities , organized around 100 exhibitions creative art, ceramics, graphics, carvings , others. 10,000 children throughout gaza strip have benefited arts , crafts village.


the gaza theater, financed contributions norway, opened in 2004. theater not receive funding pna, depending on donations foreign aid agencies. qattan foundation, palestinian arts charity, runs several workshops in gaza develop young artistic talent , impart drama skills teachers. gaza theater festival inaugurated in 2005.


the gaza museum of archaeology, founded jawdat n. khoudary, opened in summer of 2008. museum collection features thousands of items, including statue of full-breasted aphrodite in diaphanous gown, images of other ancient deities , oil lamps featuring menorahs.
