creation of akamasoa

father pedro opeka created local non-governmental organization called akamasoa (the , faithful friends) in december 1989 continue work malagasy people. appointed team of staff helping him manage daily activities , provide continuous support poor people.


today akamasoa sustains thirty thousand people in 18 villages, ten thousand children in these villages, go school, following building of 37 new schools along these years.


about 4 thousand families live in 18 villages, 900,000 malagasy people have been supported 1 day 3 weeks in welcome centers , being offered rice, cover, cloth , small package born again life..


son courageous father taught him building arts, father pedro opeka taught akamasoa youth how build houses, first in wood, in bricks , mortar.


over 3,000 solid houses have been built akamasoa date people used live on earth in card-board boxes... akamasoa building each year new schools, clinics, , centres training , production. on 3,600 jobs have been created villagers , being paid akamasoa each month.


a comprehensive economic structure, akamasoa has grown being 75% self-sufficient in revenue, creation of stone , gravel quarries, craft , embroidery workshops, compost centre next tana public rubbish. father pedro opeka taught akamasoa people tips on how divide , sort rubbish, transport compost issued rubbish creating agriculture small farms. akamasoa training construction artisans (bricklayers, carpenters, cabinet makers, operators , street pavers)who have built or rebuilt roads , bridges communities on villages , country...


akamasoa lies 12 km center of antananarivo, in road in direction of tamatave.
