this period dominated 2 clubs, serbian bsk , croatian građanski, both of won 5 titles each. followed croatian side hajduk split, , serbian side jugoslavija, each 2 titles. beside them, croatian clubs concordia , haŠk won 1 championship. geographically, belgrade , zagreb dominated period 7 titles each, split taking one.


in total, title won hajduk split made difference, making croatian teams win 1 more title serbian ones, croatia having 8 titles, , serbia 7. no surprise, football in croatia had been more developed, has been introduced earlier in serbia, while zagreb , split still part of austro-hungarian empire, known @ time central european school, worldwide avant-garde of football. in comparison, football in serbia introduced bit latter, brought students coming austro-hungarian urban centers vienna, budapest, prague or zagreb football developed sport. despite fact, period marked immediate appearance of growing rivalry between croatian , serbian clubs championship on national level begin in 1923.

at beginning of new millennium domestic football started experiencing revival, new generations of players being formed inspired veterans had, despite all, impressive careers. @ club level, partizan reached uefa champions league group stage in 2003–04 season. managed have european performances on several seasons, , had reach group stages of uefa cup on several occasions. domestically, period marked intense rivalry between partizan , red star, eternal derby, became highlight of serbian club football.
