in 1858 history in making when young irish priest rev. fr. william gleeson came lucknow. sold land of former mission @ golabganj, in state of uttar pradesh, , out of proceeds , subscriptions raised public. purchased plot of land @ hazratganj in wilderness. in 1860 built beautiful church , dedicated st. joseph. church blessed bishop anastasius hartmann on 10 may 1862. in same year rev. fr. william gleeson built boundary wall , priest s house in 1860–1862. handed on charge of station rev. fr. felix o.f.m. cap, of turin.
