turkey restricts smoking in government offices, workplaces, bars, restaurants, cafes, shopping malls, schools, hospitals, , forms of public transport, including trains, taxis , ferries. turkey s smoke-free law ban includes provisions violators, caught smoking in designated smoke-free area faces fine of 83 liras (~€35/$47/£30) , bar owners fail enforce law fined 560 liras first offence 5,600 liras.

on 3 january 2008, turkey passed law prohibiting smoking in indoor spaces including bars, cafés , restaurants. restricts smoking in sports stadia, , gardens of mosques, hospitals , schools. smoking ban came force on 19 may 2008; however, bars, restaurants , cafes exempted until mid-july 2009. on 19 july 2009, turkey extended indoor public smoking restrictions include bars, restaurants, village coffeehouses , nargile (hookah) bars.
