there 2 opinions on orthographic norms of our native language: phonetic ... influenced domination of spanish, , 1 ... etymology main , logical attribute ... because (portuguese orthography) natural orthography of galician language, , cannot understand how there still not doubts this, opinions against ... no scientific basis.





there reason why our language same in portugal ... our languages must become same 1 again.





galician wide-spread , useful language which—with small variations—is spoken in brazil, portugal , in portuguese colonies.




yet, end of franco dictatorship in 1975, , spanish transition democracy, galicia became autonomous community statute of autonomy of 1981, galician official language (alongside spanish). establishing fixed standard form became urgent. claims galician-portuguese linguistic unity had been produced, evidenced manifesto para supervivência da cultura galega (manifesto survival of galician culture), first published in 1974. still, first draft of language norms produced in 1979 under guidance of linguist professor ricardo carballo calero. these norms recommended gradual approach portuguese, allowing number of different solutions in case of uncertainty.


however, political issues forced resignation of carvalho calero and, consequently, 1979 pro-reintegrationist norms revoked. new official norms , reforms passed 1982 onwards pro-isolationist.
